Creative Sustainability SolutionsThe Carbon Mineralization Oman project aimed at addressing climate change through innovative carbon sequestration techniques by mineralizing carbon dioxide. As part of the project, real-time Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) modeling was conducted to evaluate the environmental impacts across several critical areas, including Global Warming Potential (GWP), Ozone Depletion, Acidification, and Eutrophication. The LCA modeling provided valuable insights into the potential climate change impacts of the project, assessing both the direct and indirect effects of carbon mineralization on the environment. The project focused on quantifying and understanding the long-term benefits of carbon mineralization, particularly its ability to mitigate global warming by capturing and converting carbon dioxide into stable mineral forms. By evaluating key environmental metrics, the project was able to ensure that the carbon sequestration process minimizes its adverse effects on ecosystems and complies with global sustainability standards. This assessment was critical in optimizing the environmental performance of the project, providing data to guide sustainable decision-making, and ensuring the alignment of the initiative with international best practices in climate change mitigation. The findings from the LCA modeling have contributed to a greater understanding of how carbon mineralization can play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing the global effort to combat climate change.
